Prof. Gürkov is a world-renowned Otorhinolaryngologist. He visited Medical School in Munich (LMU), London (King’s College), Durham (Duke University School of Medicine), including a Research Scholarship at Case Western Reserve University Cleveland and has achieved the US medical board examination (ECFMG certificate).

Following his specialty training in ORL and head and neck surgery at the University of Munich (Chief: Prof. Alexander Berghaus), he accomplished a sustained academic career and published more than 120 scientific studies, with a special focus on Otology and Neurotology (Hearing and Dizziness). As an example, he has conducted three randomized placebo-conrolled clinical trials with different treatments for Hydropic Ear Disease (aka Menière’s Disease). His expertise in Hearing and Balance disorders is in regular demand at all relevant national and international medical congresses and part of the official guidelines for the treatment of vertigo and dizziness in the German speaking countries. He held an Attending position in Otology at the University Hospital of Bielefeld (Chief: Prof. Holger Sudhoff, FRCS, FRCPath) and visited the Otology & Neurotology departments at Maastricht University, Cambridge University and Madrid (Ramon y Cajal).

Today, Prof. Gürkov is practicing in Munich, at Rotkreuzplatz in the heart of the beautiful Neuhausen-Nymphenburg quarter.
